Ross Duncan - Counselling & supervision

BCom, MMin(Pastoral Counselling), Grad Dip Div, Grad Dip Th, Grad Cert Professional Supervision, CCAA, CA, AAOS. My journey is a little different from most. I began my working life as a New South Wales Police officer, focusing primarily on forensic science. As a Crime Scene Examiner, I witnessed both the tragic and the best aspects of human nature. In search of greener pastures, I transitioned into business and then teaching, eventually taking on senior leadership roles in education and not-for-profit management. During this time, I realized that life encompasses more than just the pursuit of wealth and self-interest. In my early 40s, facing moments of despair and seeking meaning and purpose, I found a path to faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Since 2007, I have been immersed in Christian counselling and ministry, leading within local churches and chaplaincy environments. I've also offered high needs counselling support within prison and forensic mental health organizations. In various senior church leadership roles, I've helped people navigate difficult situations. Now, as I enter full-time counselling and supervision, I can focus my skills and experience on those who need it most. This work involves providing practical training and support services, offering grief support, trauma recovery counselling, and addressing relationship issues. I assist individuals facing complex and challenging situations, including burnout, PTSD, and the effects of sexual abuse, whether they be survivors or perpetrators. Additionally, I support families experiencing conflict, relationship issues, and domestic violence. I also collaborate with leaders in both small and large church environments to navigate the dynamics and challenges they face, providing ministry support through advocacy, counselling, coaching, mentoring, spiritual guidance, and supervision.
